Did someone say strawberry rosé basil sangria?! Oh wait..that was me! I admit I’m having a little break from recipe testing, and currently sitting outside on my patio drinking this sangria, and typing to you! Pretty much a perfect Saturday afternoon I must say. I was busy this morning testing out some recipes (including this one), and decided I can’t fully enjoy this sangria until I share this recipe with you all! That’s what friends do right?! Recipe testing it’s kind of like when you start dating someone. The person you are seeing never truly gets the stamp of approval until your bestie meets him/her, and says yup you’ve got yourself a keeper, or umm what are you thinking?! I’m 99.9% this sangria is a keeper, but I’ve had a couple of them (strictly in the process of recipe testing of course hehe), so I might be thinking this is a 10 when really its a 9 or a 11?! You my friends will have to let me know!
As some of you may have read in my home and garden category I’m hoping this year will be my year to become a gardener! How does this tie in with this sangria you ask? Well, in the process of trying to get our outdoor garden set up, and it taking too long since life is busy, I decided weeks ago that I didn’t want to wait to start my green thumb journey. To get the ball rolling I got myself a little temporary indoor herb garden. I have mint, parsley, and basil, and so far I have managed to keep them all alive YAY!!! Since I have all this fresh basil, and strawberries have been on sale at grocery stores like hot cakes ( I can’t say no to strawberries) I’ve been trying to think up ways to use up these two beautiful ingredients, and TAH-DAH that is my inspiration behind making this sangria!
I think the two flavours go deliciously together, and can’t wait to try more recipes out with this flavour combo. Seriously, how can you go wrong when the strawberries provide a burst of juicy sweetness, and the basil compliments the strawberries sweetness with it’s own burst of sweet, savoury, fresh flavour?! You can’t go wrong is the answer folks! Strawberries and basil should really just get married already! Just sayin’ if I was these two ingredients bestie I would give them my stamp of approval! Until then let’s just celebrate them being together by drinking this Strawberry Rosé Basil Sangria.
PS. Have you tried any of my recipes? If so, thank you so much for inviting me into your kitchen! I would love to hear some feedback if you have the time to leave me a little note!
